Part Puller

Position Summary:

Responsible for timely processing of orders and flow of material, contributing to process efficiency. Provides timely, safe and efficient operation of machines. Responsible for correctly tagging the finished material and moving it to the next designation and stages as required.

Essential Responsibilities:                                                           

  • Picks, stocks, stages, and delivers assorted parts
  • Ensures all disassembly, warehouse and assembly areas are fully supported and that all items are pre-staged for service
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area, parts and other equipment.
  • Performs periodic part inspection per job instructions.
  • Places finished material on a pallet or in a container with the work order number and piece part number on the top piece of each separate item.
  • Marks pallet with appropriate tag.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork.
  • Moves material to next destination and stages as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Empties hoppers of webbing into scrap dumpsters.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.  Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills; Good computer skills. Operation monitoring, quality control analysis, critical thinking, active listening, troubleshooting, complex problem solving, equipment maintenance and reading comprehension. Hi-Lo competency.

Abilities: Ability to accurately prepare documents, production sheets and other reports and related paperwork as required by our procedures; Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints; Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion; Ability to apply principles of logical thinking of a wide range of practical problems; Ability to work independently and make independent decisions.

Physical Demands:  While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.  Work might entail significant time spent standing, exposure to extreme temperatures, enduring distracting/uncomfortable sounds and noise levels, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous conditions and equipment. Must periodically lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Employee may be required to climb stairs as needed to access various areas of the building.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. Overtime may be necessary as work load’s dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
