DA Grinder
Job Title: DA Grinder Reports to: Weld Lead

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Operates grinding machines to smooth products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments to grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. on to surfaces.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Set up equipment and grind welds to specifications.
- Responsible for the proper stacking, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location.
- Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
- Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.
- Perform simple maintenance and repair as required

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: Knowledge of weld materials, production processes, machines, hardware, and assembly tools; Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layouts when needed. Ability to work at a quick pace while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills; Good computer skills.
Abilities: Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints; Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion; Ability to apply principles of logical thinking of a wide range of practical problems; Ability to work independently and make independent decisions.

Physical Demands: While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. Work might entail significant time spent standing, exposure to extreme temperatures, enduring distracting/uncomfortable sounds and noise levels, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous conditions and equipment. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Employee may be required to climb stairs as needed to access various areas of the building. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. Overtime may be necessary as work load’s dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
